News: UNLEASHED in the studio to record new album!

Unleashed are currently in Fredrik's "Chrome studio" for the recording of our 10th full length album. The album will be released on Nuclear Blast records early next year.
Musically, it will be the logical continuation from "Midvinterblot" and "Hammer Battalion".
Lyrically, you will recognize what has become the Unleashed trademark since more than 20 years, the combination of the past, present and future of viking struggle and way of life. A few of the songs also mark the beginning of a story never before told. More details about the album and songtitles coming soon.

New: DEADSOUL TRIBE - Split up

„This is It“

Here is now the Announcement of the end from the Band
“Deadsoul tribe”
First we want to thank all of the loyal DST fans and friends who supported us over all those years. In the past 10 years of travelling and performing in several different Countries and Areas we met so many great and nice people we will never forget, well actually there will be much more we gonna miss,…great memories that is what we'll take with us !
Maybe some of you asking yourself what Happens, well we 4 are still friends, but with Deadsoul tribe we finally didn’t got to the point were we thought we would be at that time even if we had such a wonderful time. And as life and people are changing, also WE changed! And to start something else/new we thought the best and maybe last time for it would be right now, as we also won’t get younger, right *lol*.Another thing is that we made a live Dvd(some of u knew about) but there are no info whether or when we release that, but Adel is still taking care here and than on the Myspace site and if any news about the Dvd comming up you will find them there .Well let's see what the future brings, but for now we finally have to say “Good Bye” to all of you and THX so much 4 the wonderful Journey we had the last decade, best wishes much *LOVE* and take care,…Greetz from “The Tribe” - Devon, Adel, Roland, Rollz,…” A Lullaby for Deadsoul Tribe ”

News; JON OLIVA'S PAIN - begin mixing of new album "Festival"

Mixing of the new JOP CD "Festival" has commenced!

We are beginning with the bonus tracks and the
ballad today and from there we will set up the
mix-template for the meat of the album.

This is just a basic working template for the drums, bass
and guitars. It's help us to speed up the time needed
to put all the remaining instruments, vocals, tricks, trinkets
and what-nots in their proper place. Needless to say that
with more than 100 tracks on many songs...the process
is still quite exhausting.

We will have mixes of 3 songs to digest this weekend. In the
end, we will take a final "review" day to fine-tweak all the
songs in preperation for mastering. We will deliver the CD
to AFM the first week of December...barring any crazy act
of God that may get in our way.

We have focused on every conceivable detail possible while
insuring that the mix is raw, alive and full of emotion. We stumbled
upon so many great idea's during the last 2 months and most
of these songs have taken on a shape that we had not previously
imagined....that is simply the magic of having the time and also the
support from our record label, AFM. Delivering anything but 110%
would be insulting both to ourselves and of course you...our
most supportive and enthusiastic fans!

News: TOKYO BLADE is back in original line up !

THE REAL TOKYO BLADE WILL BE TOURING NEXT YEAR 2010 the band will feature myself as well as Andy Wrighton and John Wiggins from the original line up.
Thanks to the many fans who have contacted me about the Tokyo Blade Tribute band recently on tour, yes guys it is weird to go on tour as a well known NWOBHM band when all the members are American and none of them has ever played on a Tokyo Blade album or written any of the songs?????????????????????????????
Anyway fuckem for their deceit and lies. True fans such as yourself will never be fooled by those idiots. Many thanks Andy The official news as of today October 14th 2009... Andy Boulton collapsed on Monday and was taken to the hospital as a result of an illness he has been suffering for sometime.
Due to this Andy will not be playing on any dates of the tour "see dates below" In a statement from his bed Andy said "I was determined to give this tour my best shot and having been ill for sometime I expected that at least one of the band might send me a get well soon email or at least a phone call.
It appears that they weren't the friends they claimed to be and didn't seem to concerned about my state of health. I have therefore decided that my initial decision to leave the band last year was the correct decision I will not be playing with the 4 American musicians calling themselves Tokyo Blade and as far as I'm concerned they are nothing to do with the NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL BAND know as Tokyo Blade in which I was the founder member".
"I am very happy to say that my management company are backing me all the way and have given me the go ahead to announce that Tokyo Blade will be touring and recording next year featuring myself and some other great surprises (stay tuned for news).
I wish to thank from the bottom of my heart my very good friends Stefan and Bart and all of my true loyal fans and to express how very sorry I am that I will not be seeing them this year.
On behalf of Andy I would like to say a very deep and heartfelt thanks to the many many many fans, friends and well wishers who have taken the time to write and wish Andy a speedy recovery. He has been deeply touched by having so many good friends and people who truly care about his well being and a very very big thank you from the both of us... Love Lozen and Andy Boulton xx

TOGETHER IN THE UK IN OVER THREE DECADES

ALL DATES WITH VERY SPECIAL GUESTS – JOE PERRY PROJECT

NEW LIVE CD/DVD (IMAGE/UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP)

SET FOR RELEASE FEBRUARY 9, 2010

London 17th November 2009 – The original members of Bad Company, Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke have announced that they will reunite for a series of eight UK shows in April 2010. This marks the first time the original members have performed in the UK together in over three decades. The opening show will take place at the Birmingham LG Arena on 1st April and the final show will take place 11th April at Wembley Arena. All dates will feature very special guests, the Joe Perry Project. Tickets go on sale beginning 10am Friday 20th November. Additionally, a new Bad Company live CD/DVD set is set for release prior to the tour on 9th February 2010 (Image/Universal Music Group).

Rodgers, celebrating over four decades as a writing and recording artist (Free, Bad Company, The Firm, Queen + Paul Rodgers), was recently presented with the “Classic Songwriter ” award by Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck at the annual Classic Rock Magazine Roll of Honour 2009. Rolling Stone recently named Rodgers one of the “Top 100 Singers of All Time,” Classic Rock UK placed him at #2 on their “50 Greatest Singers in Rock” list and England ’s Planet Rock Radio fan poll placed him at #3 on their “Greatest Voices of Rock” list. His debut solo DVD “Live in Glasgow” is certified Gold and charted at #1 in Canada, #2 in Japan, #3 in the US and #4 in the UK .

“These dates are to thank the fans for keeping the music alive,” said Rodgers. “It's great to be with Paul and Simon,” said Ralphs. “We made great music together and had the time of our lives doing it. I'm really looking forward to us bringing Bad Company back to the UK .” Ralphs recently regrouped with 70s rock band Mott the Hoople for five sold-out reunion shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in London Autumn 2009.

After the break up of Free (known internationally for their smash hit “All Right Now” co-written by Rodgers) Paul connected with ex-Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs. Free drummer Simon Kirke would later join that year and the trio would begin rehearsing. Ex-King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell came aboard a few months later and the supergroup Bad Company was solidified. In 1974 they signed to Swan Song Records (owned by Led Zeppelin and distributed via Atlantic Records) to release their highly anticipated debut album, titled Bad Co. Rodgers’ concept to write a song titled the same as the band’s name was a first. Propelled by the hit single “Can’t Get Enough”, the album would quickly hit #1 on the charts and remain in the Top 40 for four straight months. Bad Company were at the forefront of the 70’s arena rock movement. To this day, the multi-platinum Bad Co. album arguably remains one of the most accomplished debuts in rock history, reading as a virtual greatest hits set in itself.

Straight Shooter, Run with the Pack, Burnin’ Sky and Desolation Angels would all follow within a five year run throughout the ‘70s with the writing team of Rodgers and Ralphs yielding more multi-platinum awards with hit after hit, “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” “Seagull,” “Run with the Pack,” “Burnin’ Sky,” “Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy,” making Bad Company one of the biggest concert attractions of the decade. In 1982, the band released their final recording Rough Diamonds and the single “Electricland” would be their last before disbanding. The group’s multi-platinum award-winning greatest hits set 10 from 6 has become a music collectors staple.

News: MEGADETH/SLAYER/TESTAMENT - together on US Tour

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

YES, THE RUMORS ARE TRUE:

MEGADETH, SLAYER TEAM UP FOR

"AMERICAN CARNAGE"

Co-Headliners to Tour the U.S. Together For the First Time in Nearly Two Decades

Testament to be Special Guest

Recession-Proof $10.00 Tickets Available in All U.S. Markets

Los Angeles, CA - MONDAY, November 16, 2009 -- Slayer. Megadeth. Two names synonymous with fierce, crunching power. Two bands whose histories are inevitably intertwined in defining the thrash/metal genre. Individually, their respective prowess and accomplishments are impressive; but together, they're brutal and unstoppable. Megadeth and Slayer will join forces to co-headline "American Carnage," the most blistering, the most explosive, and the most eagerly anticipated mega-tour of the winter - and you do not want to miss it.

"American Carnage" will kick off on January 18 in Seattle, WA for a 26-date trek across North America that will include the six Canadian dates postponed earlier this month. Tickets for most shows go on sale this Friday, November 20. Ticketmaster is offering a special presale for most shows from Wednesday November 18 at 10am until Thursday November 19 at 10pm.

"American Carnage" is the first time that Slayer and Megadeth will have toured the U.S. together since 1991's epic "Clash of the Titans" tour. To celebrate that and in recognition of the tough economic times that many of their fans are having, Megadeth and Slayer have decided to roll back the price of a chunk of tickets at every U.S. show to the "1991 price" of $10.00. These specially-priced tickets will be limited and when they're gone, they're gone. Megadeth has also teamed with iloveallaccess.com to provide an Ultimate Fan Package including premium seats, meet and greets, pre-show parties and more.

In addition, Testament - who was also on the "Clash of the Titans" bill, will be Special Guests on the entire tour, marking the first time that all three bands have shared a stage together in more than 18 years, and making this a "must see" metal event.

Both Megadeth and Slayer will hit the road supporting new albums: Megadeth's 2009 album, ENDGAME, while Slayer's World Painted Blood, the band's 10th studio venture, hit stores November 3. Testament's The Formation of Damnation: Special Tour Edition, will be released on February 23, 2010, with special unreleased bonus tracks.

Slayer and Megadeth have already massacred territories together outside of the U.S. - first with four explosive dates in June, 2009 across Western Canada - "Canadian Carnage" - marking the first time the bands had shared a stage anywhere in 18 years; and then six co-headlining "Carnage" dates in Australia followed in October.

According to various Canadian press outlets last summer: "It was a night of thrash impossible to trash..." "Tales about war, death, destruction, Satan, aliens and serial killers have never been so much fun..." "The two heavy metal heavyweights ...went head-to-head on a level playing field. Both bands brought their 'A' game. And the results were anything but pretty - unless you include pretty freakin' loud and pretty freakin' awesome."

Slayer. Few bands come close to matching the intensity that Slayer - guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, vocalist/bassist Tom Araya and drummer Dave Lombardo - brings to its live shows, having been named "Best Live Band" by numerous media outlets including Revolver, SPIN, and Metal Hammer. World Painted Blood offers a Slayer-ized point of view of our world - God's terrifying global genocide, the chaos of our broken political system, the way-too-close proximity of world horrors that technology has brought us, and a chilling hypothesis of how the rest of the world might view America. The album was recorded in Los Angeles over two time periods, during October 2008 and then between late January and March 2009. World Painted Blood was produced by Greg Fidelman, who's spent time in the studio with Metallica, the Gossip, the (International) Noise Conspiracy, Slipknot and others, and executive produced by long-time Slayer colleague, Rick Rubin, who suggested Fidelman for the project. One reviewer called the album "the heaviest, bloodiest and best album in almost two decades." Fans got a couple of early morsels of the brutal new Slayer material -- "Psychopathy Red," a Hanneman song inspired by the heinous Russian serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, who confessed to savagely murdering 56 children, was recorded last October and then leaked online. Then, the King-penned track, "Hate Worldwide," was made available in July as a limited-edition single through Hot Topic. For "American Carnage," Slayer's Tom Araya promises, "no ballads, no acoustic numbers, no slow tempos."

Megadeth. 2009 saw the release of ENDGAME, what has been heralded as Megadeth’s best album in years. It’s the record where it all comes full circle in a career that has not only set standards in hard rock and metal, but defined them. Megadeth’s signature shredding and rousing lyrics are the hallmarks of ENDGAME, with vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine once musing and making declarations about the world we live in, having named the album after a government document that should strike fear in the hearts of Americans! But that’s Mustaine and Megadeth, using the vehicle of music to shake things up, to make a point and to rattle your brain, literally, figuratively and sonically. Revolver magazine said of ENDGAME, ““One of their best albums.” VH1’s That Metal Show deemed it, “One of the metal albums of the year”, and Popmatters said, ““the record positively scorches with an intensity not heard since Rust in Peace.

Legendary thrash metal titans Testament, whose latest award-winning release (2008 Album of the Year, Metal Hammer's Golden God Award) The Formation of Damnation, displays them as the quintessential modern heavy metal band, whose experience and accumulated skill allows them to attack with reserves of anger, energy and finesse that make them more powerful than ever. Lead singer Chuck Billy says, "Uniting these bands is the heavy metal event of generations. We are so proud to be a part of it."

Slayer and Megadeth are also re-scheduling the east coast leg of the “Canadian Carnage” tour, postponed from this fall.

News: BLIND GUARDIAN - New album updates !!

Vocalist Hansi Kürsch of long-running German metallers BLIND GUARDIAN has issued the following update:

"We finally have started the production of BLIND GUARDIAN studio album number nine. Frederik [Ehmke; drums] is literally rushing through the songs already. Who knows, this time we may deliver the finished master prior to the ultimate deadline (set by an about-to-get-insane record company after thousands of broken promises to finally deliver the new record within the next days). Well, Frederik isn't Marcus [Siepen; guitar], who isn't André [Olbrich; guitar], who most certainly is not Hansi. So there still lies trouble (i.e. delays) ahead.

"Back to Frederik, back to the production: We started sometime last week and Frederik accomplished drums for some seriously tricky tracks. If I am correct, he has two more tracks to go and should be finished during the next days. Altogether there are 11 songs to work on.

"As mentioned last time, we do have a strong amount of heavy GUARDIAN hymns, which come along with such a harsh intensity that I am sometimes surprised myself. There is a fine balance of extremely fast songs and ultimate epic stuff. 'Wheel Of Time' would be one example for the last mentioned. The song contains many surprises — I am deadly honest about that, so mark my words here. Lyrically I am of course tempted to deal with Robert Jordan's great 'Wheel Of Time' story, one of the best fantasy series ever.

"If you asked me with which song the number could be compared, I most probably would say 'The Script For My Requiem' or 'And Then There Was Silence'. This tune does really have the potential to mess with these two songs.

"As you most probably figure, I am really excited about the new stuff and I cannot await to hear the final result somewhere in April 2010, when we will have finished mixing. We are targeting a late summer, early fall release, which means you still have to wait a little bit. To make the long waiting more comfortable we are at least intending to constantly provide you with information about the album's progress and supply you with small samples of noise from time to time. Right at the moment, we are working on an accurate set up to make that possible. Expect something before Christmas. As it looks now, I will start first vocals next Monday. Therefore I need to do some more research for proper lyrics. G.R.R. Martin, Robert Jordan, Michael Moorcock and so on, they all knew how to write a good story or two..."

News: MERCENARY - Part ways with three members

Well, well, changes that have been underway for a long time can sometimes come about in the blink of an eye. Last week, Mike told us that he wanted to leave the band permanently. The rest of us did some serious thinking and soul-searching, sat down and had "the big talk" and came to the agreement that the only way to continue the band was to part ways with Mikkel and Morten as well. During the last year we have been working on a new album and it has become clear that we no longer share the same vision and enthusiasm about the direction and the future of the band. Martin, Rene, Mike and I wanted to play faster, heavier and more modern (yet old school) material, but for the band as a whole this evidently didn't work out.

We hope that our fans will understand and appreciate the fact that we actually tried for the better part of a year to make the situation work, despite our differences. In the past we managed to turn those very differences into our strength by complementing and inspiring each other. But during the last couple of years we all felt that we had to compromise ourselves in different ways, which of course frustrated us all - both when we played the old material and when we tried exploring a new and fresh sound. Martin and I actually came frighteningly close to disbanding the band less than a year ago, but luckily we came to the agreement that we owed ourselves and the fans to try a final time to make things work. We tried to overcome our frustrations by perfecting, evolving and invigorating our style together as a band. However, the natural joy and the ease with which we had cooperated in the past didn't return and for a long time we have felt further apart musically than ever before.

In many ways this is a painful choice. But it also allows us to close a chapter in the band's career and our shared lives, that we're all immensely proud off, in a dignified way that doesn't let ourselves or our fans down. Nobody would be better off if we released an album that we didn't all truly believe in and felt as fiercely passionate about as we have done about all of our past albums.

The sad but obvious truth is that the past will never return. Mercenary as you know it is now dead and buried. Rest assured, however, that René, Martin and I will continue Mercenary in the best way we possibly can and with a newfound sense of integrity and purpose. So far we have had an immensely fruitful songwriting process with lots of mutual inspiration, understanding, synergy - and most importantly - good, plain, old fashioned fun, which is what it all ought to be about. We feel that we're finally all in agreement about the future direction of the band and that this will be the strongest and most united incarnation of Mercenary ever. In terms of creativity, motivation and the everyday-practical-getting-shit-done-aspects, the band remains fully intact. The new Mercenary will be back to shatter everybody's balls in 2010.

On behalf of all of the guys, we'd like to give our most humble and sincere thanks to all the fans, bands, press, promoters and others who have supported us throughout the years and made this one hell of a damn fine ride. As a final nod from the old incarnation of Mercenary to the fans, we've included a video from our tour with Arch Enemy, where Mikkel joined them on stage Italy for the track "Burning Angel", as this tour and this experience was in many ways the highlight of what we managed to achieve together.

News: KEEL - is finishing now the new album

Reactivated '80s hard rockers KEEL are putting the finishing touches on their new album, "Streets Of Rock & Roll", for a January 2010 release via Frontiers Records. The project is being produced by Pat Regan (DEEP PURPLE, KISS, WARRANT) and will feature guest appearances by Jaime St. James (BLACK 'N BLUE) and Paul Shortino (ROUGH CUTT, QUIET RIOT), who is also producing and recording Ron's lead vocal sessions.
KEEL announced its reunion in November 2008, and enjoyed appearances at major summer festivals such as Rocklahoma, South Texas Rock Fest, the Midwest Rock Fest, and the M3 rock festival in Maryland, in addition to sold-out headline shows in Hollywood and Phoenix. The energy and excitement of these tour dates spawned a surge of creative activity, resulting in an album's worth of new material.

KEEL promises this new release will continue in the tradition of their previous efforts — fist-pumping crowd-pleasing hard rock anthems fueled by screaming vocals and driven by powerful guitars.

News: AEROSMITH - after Tyler's departure a new singer ??

AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry announced via his Twitter page yesterday that despite Steven Tyler's apparent departure, "AEROSMITH is definitely NOT breaking up." Perry also reassured fans that the remaining four members of AEROSMITH would seek out a new singer while Tyler did "his own thing."

"AEROSMITH is positively looking for a new singer to work with. You just can't take 40 years of experience and throw it in the bin!" Perry wrote. "Band is playing hotter than ever and our songs need to be played live! Don't despair; AEROSMITH not splitting up. Promise that's the last you'll hear from me on the subject till we gear up again."

Perry told the Las Vegas Sun on Friday (November 6) that Tyler has quit the band he co-founded nearly 40 years ago, following a recent concert in Abu Dhabi. Perry revealed to the newspaper, "Steven quit as far as I can tell. I don't know any more than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don't know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don't know."

Tyler told Classic Rock magazine following the Middle East concert that he intended to work on "Brand Tyler" instead of a new AEROSMITH record for the foreseeable future, saying, "I don't know what I'm doing yet, but it's definitely going to be something Steven Tyler: working on the brand of myself — Brand Tyler."

Perry told the Sun that Tyler "has had no contact" with him or the other band members. Classic Rock reported that Tyler's dressing room at the Abu Dhabi gig was distant from the others, and that he did not interact with the rest of the group until they got onstage.

Perry said that he would like AEROSMITH to continue, but admitted that he's not entirely sure how to proceed. He explained, "As far as replacing Steve, it's not just about that, it's also four guys that play extremely well together, and I'm not going to see that go to waste. I really don't know what path it's going to take at this point, but we'll probably find somebody else that will sing in those spots where we need a singer and then we'll be able to . . . move the vibe up a notch."

Things have been tense in the AEROSMITH camp since early August, when a fall from a stage in South Dakota broke Tyler's shoulder and ended the band's summer tour. In the months since, internal strife has come to the surface, forcing AEROSMITH to consider two options: going on hiatus or getting a new vocalist.

Perry told the Sun that he believed Tyler had been planning to leave for a while, saying, "Obviously he hasn't been giving 100 percent to this thing for a long time . . . To disregard his brothers to the point where we have to find out about it on the Internet — it's like, 'See you later, Bud.' I still care for him as a person, or at least the person I used to know. But things change."

Announcement: MOB RULES live (support: Eternal Reign)

News: MISERY SPEAKS - splits up !!

In the 10th year after founding the band, several line-up-changes and three albums we are very sorry to tell you that we finally decided to call it a day and close the chapter MISERY SPEAKS. Different personal reasons forced us to come to this decision which lies heavy on our hearts.

There is absolutely no reason for rumours since we are still good friends without any bad blood. We all still share the passion for music since everyone of us is involved in other bands or is working on other projects which we are looking forward to. Furthermore we share the opinion that „Disciples Of Doom“ is our most ambitious and honest album to date which prepared the way to all our future activities. Keep your eyes and ears open!
We want to use this opportunity to thank all of our supporters and fans. You are the ones who made all of our experiences possible. We had the fuckin´time of our lives and only want to miss a few of these moments. Thank you for that!

Beside that we will play some selected shows in Germany, Austria and Switzerland until the end of the year and a short farewell tour in some of the bigger cities in Germany in early 2010.
Our final show will happen in our hometown Muenster around that time.

News: MUSTASCH signs with Nuclear Blast

Nuclear Blast is proud to announce the signing of legendary Swedish heavy metal hard rockers MUSTASCH! Their self-titled album which was already released in Scandinavia, will be released in the rest of Europe January 8th 2010.

"We are thrilled about signing with Nuclear Blast, they are indeed the right record company for MUSTASCH. We are one of the biggest metal bands in Sweden and now when we have produced the strongest record in our career we did want to find a partner to understand its potential to launch

internationally, so within the wide networks of the biggest independent metal label in Europe we definately feel comfort and stability. We are excited to the opportunity of being a part of the Nuclear Blast family", comments the band. "We knew that we were producing a MUSTASCH masterpiece when entering the studio. When we had recorded the first few tracks we did know that this was the strongest record we've ever done: It of course sounded heavy metal hard rock, but this time we were experiencing a heavy machine we'd never experienced before. It's the hardest record we've done but we've never been this proud. Our main plans after releasing the album successfully in the Nordic countries is to focus on Europe in 2010, we are focusing on extensive touring all over by February until summer to present the machine of MUSTASCH. Heavy Metal Hard Rock!"

News: ANIMA finish recording for new album

German deathcore brigade ANIMA has finished recording for their new, yet to be titled, album to be due in February of 2010. Here's an update from the band:

"The good news at first. We almost finished the mix and mastering of the new album. The artwork-process is doing well, too and the final cover, title and release date will be announced shortly. Moreover there are some new partners at our site, such as Perfidy Clothing and Brutal Knack Clothing.

The bad news: As you might have noticed our drummer had an accident. He's unable to play for a couple of weeks. Luckily enough we were able to get a stand-in drummer which is Phillip from Dying Eternity. We had some rehearsals together and things are working out quite well!"

News: The return of GIANT

Frontiers Records announces the return of GIANT for the release of a brand new album in early 2010.

After recording two albums with christian rockers Whiteheart in the early 80's and having made a name as session players in the Pop and Rock scene, guitarist / vocalist Dann Huff and his drummer brother David hooked up with Alan Pasqua, an experienced keyboards player which lent his talents to loads of Jazz and Rock artists and Nashville session bass player Mike Brignardello to form Giant.

They eventually signed with A&M Records and released 1989's “Last of the Runaways”, featuring a classic, melodic hard rock sound, which yielded a top-twenty hit with "I'll See You in My Dreams". Giant’s debut album is still regarded nowadays as one of the highest points in melodic hard rock of the end of the eighties melting diverse influences such as Van Halen, Journey and U2 to create an instantly recognizable sound. After countless tours and live performances in the US and Europe, the band recorded the follow up album "Time to Burn" in 1991. Slightly more aggressive than it's predecessor, but still magnificent in the production and songwriting departments. this album is also regarded as a main source of influence for many melodic and hard rock bands nowadays.

Soon after the release of “Time To Burn”, Alan Pasqua decided to quit the band and went back to session work. The band toured once again Europe and US without him, but soon after disbanded. Dann Huff then became one of the most respected producers of our era, working in the Rock, Pop and Country Music with countless artists including Shania Twain, Megadeth, Faith Hill and several others. His brother David also started to become more and more involved in the production business and thanks to a mutual friend he was introduced in 1999 to Frontiers Records managers Serafino Perugino and Mario de Riso. This eventually brought to a meeting in Chicago were the label proposed David to bring back the name and the music of such a great band. The “III” album was released in 2001 with major acclaim in the Classic and Melodic Hard Rock community.

However Dann’s busy schedule along with the other members’ commitments, made the reunion impossible to carry on. However the vision of bringing back Giant as a living band unit with a recording and touring line-up and with of course the possibility to carry on the enormous legacy of the music produced so far with the same quality was raised a few times in conversations between David Huff and Frontiers. As time went by it became apparent that Dann Huff could not be a full part of this concept, even though he loved everything that Giant was. Thus original members, drummer David Huff and bassist Mike Brignardello, who wanted to go back to Rock, started an endless research for the right musicians that could be part of a renewed Giant line-up. And in the end the choice fell on singer extraordinaire Terry Brock (Strangeways, Seventh Key) and on John Roth (Winger) on guitars. David Huff comments: “Yes, we have decided to move forward. But we’re not trying to replace Dann, because that could never be done. We have picked up where we left off and have added a great new flavor. We will always stay close to the original core of what Giant was: a melodic arena rock band based around guitar riffs. We will stay with the same principle of vocals too--great harmonies and melodies. Terry's vocal style is very complimentary to Giant’s core sound--he has tremendous feel (soul) and range along with power. John's guitar playing is very powerful too”.

The band has completed the songwriting and according to David: “It feels good to be working on Giant again! In early April we had an incredible week with the new Giant line-up, we have some great new songs and we are working also on some ideas that have been taking dust on the shelf for years. Dann was part of our meeting and has co-written several songs which no doubt have his guitar flavors all over them. He was also very excited and he has agreed to appear in the album playing guitar on two songs”.

News: ACCEPT - about the new album

Accept bassist Peter Baltes (ex-Dokken) has issued the following studio update regarding the new Accept studio album on his MySpace blog:

"Just an update to everyone. Accept just started recording a new studio album in England. We are very exited and love our new singer Mark Tornillo. Andy Sneap, who just finished with Megadeth, is producing the album. If you want to know more please go to the Peter Baltes Fan Page on Facebook. I will be talking there often. Gotta go back recording. You all have a great rockin' week."

The as-yet-untitled CD is being recorded at Andy Sneap's Backstage studio in Derbyshire, England. An early 2010 release is expected via an as-yet-undetermined record label.

Commented Sneap in September: "We just had a week of pre-production in Nashville at castle Von Hoffmann [guitarist Wolf Hoffmann's home], working on vocal ideas and arrangements for seven new Accept songs. Mark Tornillo is seriously on the money; actually, he reminds me a touch of David Wayne from Metal Church crossbred with Bon Scott (AC/DC) — not a pretty mental image, I know, but it's fitting the music great. He's got his own thing going as well, of course, but comparisons are always the easiest way to describe something without hearing it."

He added, "The music is now tending to lean towards the classic heavier albums too, so I'd class this last week as more of a front-row seat watching some great songs come together rather than work."
