Yngwie Malmsteen: Recording new album !!

Legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen is back in the studio recording a brand new album for a late 2010 release. More information will be made available soon.

Malmsteen released the "Raw Live" DVD on June 29. According to a press release, the set "provides an unprecedented and unique look at the Rise of a guitar god. Spanning from 1981 through 1999 and encompassing extremely rare footage of Yngwie's early years in Sweden, this video displays the infancy of Yngwie's prodigious skills well prior to his first worldwide album and travels through Yngwie's masterful career, including his masterful performances from his first solo albums, 'Rising Force', 'Marching Out', and 'Trilogy'. Also included in this unique video are never-released behind-the-scenes footage of Yngwie and newly shot personal touches of Yngwie which open up the viewer to a side of the guitar Maestro which is rarely seen by the public."

Yngwie Malmsteen donated his guitar to the city of Bologna during the inauguration of Music Italy Show — Italy's most important trade fair featuring musical instruments, publishing, backstage equipment, DJ and discography — on May 15. The Commissariat of Bologna (Mayor) was present to accept this honor, along with the President of BolognaFiere. Multiple local authorities from the Emilia Romagna region and province and city of Bologna were also in the audience.

The ceremony opened with a performance by the 65-piece Giuseppe Verdi marching band followed by Yngwie signing and presenting his guitar to the city of Bologna.

Yngwie Malmsteen headlined "The Ultimate World Guitar Exhibition" at this year's Music Italy Show, which was held May 15-17, 2010 in Bologna, Italy. Malmsteen also took part in an exclusive Clinic on May 18 at Castlebrando in
Treviso, Italy — considered to be one of Italy's most impressive
medieval castles. Fans got a chance to experience Yngwie's wizardry playing up close and personal.

KATAKLYSM - Heaven's Venom. Out on August 13th 2010!

"This album is very intense, just like I like it, simply their best to date!" Tue Madsen

Founded 1991 in Canada, KATAKLYSM started their battle for the top spot with the now classic EP "The Mystical Gate Of Reincarnation" as their first official release on Nuclear Blast records in 1994. The critically acclaimed follow-ups "Sorcery" (1995) and "Temple Of Knowledge" (1996) left the death metal scene breathless with its brutal yet technical and sophisticated approach.
The band continued to release top quality records like 1998's "Victims Of This Fallen World" and 2000's "The Prophecy". It seemed 2001 was the year that brought the most changes for the band: „EPIC: The Poetry Of War“ combined KATAKLYSM'S brutal side and their trademark blastbeats with brilliant hooks and melodies – the hit anthem „Manipulator Of Souls“ proves just that. The now classic "Shadows & Dust" album saw the KATAKLYSM fanbase grow even bigger: the video for the catchy title track "In Shadows & Dust" gained KATAKLYSM the title as the first death metal band to be featured on the return of MTV America's „Headbanger's Ball“.

2004 was nothing short of a phenomenal year for KATAKLYSM with the release of the band's 7th album, "Serenity In Fire". The guys crushed everything on their North American tour with DANZIG and also on their first headlining tour in the fall of the same year. Triumphal festival shows and winning the Canadian Indie Music Awards completed a highly successful year in the band's history. After putting out „In The Arms Of Devastation“ the band also began massive touring with the likes of CHIMAIRA, BEHEMOTH and DIMMU BORGIR among others. The album also hit the German Media Control Charts at position 76 in its first week on sale! In 2008 they released “Prevail" which also hit the charts in Germany on position #38, in Austria #44 and #83 in Switzerland.

After releasing the "Prevail" tour edition in early 2010, KATAKLYSM invested blood, sweat and tears in what will become a classic in the band's history: "Heaven's Venom" boasts all the trademarks of the Canadians such as brutal blastbeats, ten ton grooves, fierce vocals and finest shredding plus earthshattering melodies and Scandinavian influences ("At The Edge Of The World"). And who could resist the infectious hooks of a future live anthem like "Push the Venom"??? Produced by guitarist JF Dagenais and mixed by infamous Danish wiz Tue Madsen, "Heaven's Venom" will lead everybody's favourite Canuck act to glorious times! PUSH THE VENOM!
